FAQs

How do we select the right timber for constructing outdoor furniture for Australia’s conditions?

Natural Teak, Bilai Batu and Kwila (Merbau) are the three premium species of Indonesian hardwoods that are used in the Kasule Outdoor Furniture range. These timbers have been selected for furniture construction as they are best suited to weather Australia’s environmental conditions.

Teak and Bilai Batu are similar in appearance: honey gold in colour. Kwila timber is a darker rich brown coloured hardwood timber with natural red highlights.

Treated with proper care and light maintenance, teak, kwila and bilai batu timber furniture will maintain its natural good looks and inherent strength for decades.

What is the warranty on Kasule timber furniture?

Extreme care is taken with regards to the craftsmanship of all Kasule timber furniture. And we proudly stand behind the quality of manufacturing with a generous 5 year warranty.

Is Kasule Imports an established and reputable company?

Yes. Our family has been importing outdoor furniture, cushions and accessories for more than 30 years.  We are the second generation of Pattersons at the helm of Kasule Imports. We offer high-quality products backed by outstanding customer service.

Do your outdoor cushions fade?

Short answer: Not quickly. Not noticeably.

Long answer: The fabrics we use to construct our outdoor cushions have been tested and evaluated by internationally recognized research and service centre, the Hohenstein Institute in Germany. Sunproof® fabric has obtained a UV standard 801 certificate, meaning it is capable of blocking more than 97% UV rays.
Also, SUNPROOF™ fabrics are machine woven from 100% solution dyed olefin yarn. They pass American Standard ASTM G53 – 96 proving high performance of the fabric against natural weather conditions. It is industry leading, gold-standard, marine-grade outdoor fabric.

Practically, this means that the blue you purchase in 2020 will be recognisably the same blue you’ll be looking at in 2021 and 2022, not a faded, washed out colour that once looked a little bit like the blue you fell in love with.

Why are your outdoor furniture cushions so comfy?

Dacron “wrapped” foam has been used to give our furniture cushions a perfect combination of support and cushioning. This dacron/foam/dacron filling is ideal both for providing that comfortable cushioned feel and for improving the way the cushion cover appears, giving a softer, more rounded and finished look. It also limits wear and stretching of the fabric.

Oops! My outdoor cushions have a stain. How do I clean them?

Life happens! And so do stains on your favourite cushions. For general cleaning, simply whip the cover off and pop it in the washing machine on a COLD cycle.

What is Common-Sense Cushion Care?

Despite the durability of the fabrics we use to make our cushions, we recommend customers use common-sense in caring for their cushions to ensure the longest lifespan possible. This includes storing cushions when not in use to maximise their lifespan, either in a cushion or storage box or another location protected from the elements. Do not store cushions when they are wet.

Also avoid putting your cushions to close to heaters, braziers or fire pits in winter. Olefin fabric is sensitive to heat. Being a synthetic fibre—it can melt.
